As Green As It Gets: New Wastewater Treatment for Starke

The City of Starke is going green by utilizing a new wastewater treatment process which allows reuse of both water and solids processed by the plant. The new system shows the City of Starke’s commitment to its community and the environment.

Jacksonville, FL – June 8, 2009 – The City of Starke broke ground on their new, energy efficient wastewater treatment facility on June 8, 2009. The process will be automated, self-contained, and odor free thanks to BCR Environmental's patented treatment system, the Neutralizer®. The Neutralizer® system will allow the city to reuse of all residuals produced by the plant. This project emphasizes the city’s commitment to do the right thing by the environment and the community.

“We chose BCR’s Neutralizer® system because we will significantly reduce energy costs and hauling costs. We can do what’s right for our budget and what is right for the environment,” says Ricky Thompson, Operations Manager for the City of Starke.
