Job Description
BCR Environmental is currently seeking an experienced civil or mechanical engineer to work on small industrial and packaged facilities. Responsibilities include project management, design and preparation of documents related to design of industrial facilities; effective communication with clients, contractors, state and local agencies, and project team members; and participation in business development efforts as appropriate. Water and wastewater industry experience preferred.
- Responsible for client and project management.
- Interface with clients, subcontractors, other consultants, and local public agencies.
- Monitor construction progress; preparation and presentation of reports to various public clients and managers.
- Supervise and train engineering and production staff as necessary
- Responsible for budgeting, financial tracking, quality assurance and quality control, scheduling.
- Preparation of engineering plans, specifications and estimates for water and wastewater facility, pipeline and station designs utilizing BCR’s patented treatment system.
- Design and analysis of water distribution, pumping and storage systems, and/or wastewater collection, pumping and treatment systems.
- Create optimal solution with an understanding of the complex issues involved, compliance with ever-changing regulations, and the increasing costs of developing and maintaining effective water/sewerage systems
- Present engineering input as a team member of BCR as part of overall services such as; Feasibility Studies, Rate Studies, Grant Assistance, Studies and Analysis, Compliance Plans, Treatment, Disposal, Permitting, Operations and Maintenance, Construction Inspection and Mapping.
- Work with customer operating personnel during the study and design phases thereby providing a constructed project meeting the specific requirements and needs while complying with the government regulations
- Assist with proposal writing and development of new clients.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or other related engineering programs geared toward design, build and construction of industrial and commercial facilities. Experience in municipal and/or industrial water/wastewater design is a plus. Florida State PE license (or the ability to acquire within one year) preferred; ability to work as a project team leader. AutoCAD experience a must. Preference will be given to candidates with strong verbal and task management skills, as well as demonstrated proficiency writing general facility plans along with other technical documents. Knowledge of planning and permitting a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil or other related disciplines
- Florida Professional Engineering registration preferred
- 10 years of design/project management experience in industrial and/or commercial facilities
- Must have a minimum of 5 years experience providing professional engineering services in areas of equipment specification, system and process design
- Must have a minimum of 5 years experience with public agencies, municipalities, utilities, and industrial clients with the versatility and experience needed to guide projects through cost analysis, planning, budgeting, design approval, construction management, start-up and operation
- Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in the design on high complexity projects
- AutoCAD experience
- Knowledge of planning/permitting a plus
