Cleanstream™ Benefits
BCR Environmental's Cleanstream™ offers another revolutionary system designed to treat effluent (wastewater) discharge, leading to numerous benefits for wastewater plants as well as the environment. Irrigating with reuse water can significantly reduce water demand, improve soil conditions, and reduce the amount of pollutants discharged into waterways. The same chemical process used in the Neutralizer® system is utilized in this process to disinfect the effluent, meaning no risk management typically required with gaseous chlorine. The benefits to the Cleanstream™ system are as follows:
· Lower capital and operating expenses as compared to alternative treatment methods;
· Greatly reduced use of chemistry vs. chlorine disinfection (0.5-1.5ppm vs. 8-15ppm)
· Fewer chemical deliveries;
· Reduce storage;
· No chemistry degradation due to heat or sunlight like with hypochlorite;
· Requires minimal space and installation expense for equipment;
· Eliminate or reduce contact chamber as required with chlorine and hypochlorite;
· No ‘channels’ as required with ultraviolet radiation disinfection systems;
· Requires minimal repair and maintenance;
· No harmful disinfection byproducts released into the environment (THM’s or HAA’s);
· No dechlorination;
· Eliminate risk management associated with gaseous chlorine;
· Cleanstream™ oxidizes iron, manganese, and sulfides;
· Produce “Safe Water” in-stream in minutes;
· Increased wastewater plant capacity;
